Fire is one of the 18 Pokemon types introduced in Generation 1. Fire-type Pokemon are associated with heat, flames, and the Sun. Fire moves are super effective against Grass, Ice, Bug, and Steel types, making Fire one of the best offensive types in the game. Defensively, Fire resists 6 types including Fairy and Steel. Fire-types are immune to the Burn status condition, giving them an advantage against status spreaders like Sableye and Rotom.

The iconic Fire/Flying starter with access to Drought as a Mega Y, setting sun for the team. Its base 159 Special Attack in Mega Y form makes it a devastating wallbreaker with Solar Beam coverage for Water-types.
The Legendary Pokemon with Intimidate and great mixed offenses. Arcanine runs physical sets with Flare Blitz and Extreme Speed or special sets with Flamethrower and Scorching Sands. Its base 95 Speed is respectable.
The Fire/Fighting starter with Speed Boost, making it one of the deadliest setup sweepers. After one turn, Blaziken outspeeds almost everything. It uses Protect to get a free Speed Boost, then sweeps with Flare Blitz and Close Combat.
The Steel trapper with Flash Fire granting a Fire immunity. Heatran is a premier special wall and a key part of the OU metagame. Its Steel typing gives it 9 resistances including Dragon and Fairy.
The Bug/Fire special sweeper with Quiver Dance. After one boost, Volcarona threatens entire teams with Fiery Dance, Bug Buzz, and coverage moves. Its base 135 Special Attack hits extremely hard.
The mixed attacker with 104 base in both offenses and great movepool diversity. Infernape can run physical Close Combat + Flare Blitz, special Focus Blast + Flamethrower, or mixed sets with Grass Knot and Stone Edge.
The starter with Libero, changing its type to match its move. Libero gives STAB on every move, making Cinderace incredibly unpredictable. It runs sets with Pyro Ball, High Jump Kick, and U-turn for momentum.
